I picked this unit after much research, for a home-made robot (class project). Here's the scoop:
For the price, it's fantastic!
Performance: Our best results, with a fresh battery, camera unit transmitted ~200' of open parking lot AND ~75' of industrial building w/ lots of flouro/wifi etc. with minimal interference. However, signal strength fell off with batt pwr. Unfortunately, we used a variety of 9Vs at various stages of use or I'd have a lifespan for you. Best guesstimate is minimum 30 minutes full strength from fresh batt.
We also played around with it indoors, with the AC adapters on both units.
Either way, you'll occasionally have to tweak the RX tuner for best reception if the camera is mobile, or the environment changes (body blocking the antenna of the Tx etc.) See that little knob by the Rx unit's antenna? That's the tuning knob.
How does it work?
Camera unit powered by AC adapter, or 9V battery (short life as expected) sends audio ; video to receiver unit.
Receiver unit-RCA cables-TV/VCR/whatever (I used an old portable TV/VCR combo from a junk sale). No "Wifi" here.
If this thing had night-vision AND digital tuning it'd have 6 out of 5 stars. Speaking of IR, this camera will detect IR like most digi-cameras. The only test I managed to do before it's demise was to point a TV remote at it in a sealed darkroom, and it did register the IR LED.
The TX unit was smoke-checked by an idiot miswiring an improvised AC adapter after we lost the first one, but I'm definitely getting another.

I bought this setup for birding. Installation was a breeze. One bit of confusion was the manual which stated the power adapters for the camera and transmitter should not be interchanged and could damage the equipment if hooked up wrong; however, the adapters were identical. I installed everything and had it working in less than 10 minutes. There is some interference as others have pointed out, i.e., occasional lines and jitters, but all in all a very good color picture for the price. I do not see a problem with low light conditions - I have a robin who built a nest under my deck, and was hoping to watch the babies hatch. Today they did within half an hour of my installation of the camera. The camera is tucked up underneath the joists and there is no direct sunlight, yet the picture is clear and bright. This may not hold true for dusk, but for use in normal daylight, I'd highly recommend this system if you're on a tight budget. I couldn't ask for more considering cost/performance ratio.

Still trying to figure out the output, I'm assuming it's standard AV cables since the company also sells AV cables. Amazon product description doesn't specify, neither does the product description on the company website. What's the day/night viewable distance? Resolution at night? How does it perform in moisture, rain, or hot/cold temps? Does the lens fog from the inside?
Any reviews that have actual "Here's how it worked at my house..." information? Mailing address from the company's web site shows Texas, but where are these made? Bad grammar on the company's website means it's probably overseas.
If you're going to review it, please provide information that would actually help. Without it, I'm not buying this product.

I have two of these cameras set up in my house. Very easy to install. They work like they say it would. The video quality from these cameras is very good. And I was completely surprised by the solid construction and good sound of this microphone. No complaints.

This looks just like the real thing. The sensor that triggers the red light is very good ; picks things up from quite a distance.
I made it look even more real, by taking the wires out of an old broken (battery operated) toy that my Son had and glueing them under the batteries in the dummy camera where there was a little hole going into the device. I used rubber cement (like E6000 that you can find in any sewing department). I then made a little notch in the battery door and strung the wires out of the camera through there. I drilled my pilot holes for the screws that the bracket attaches to. I then drilled another small hole in the ceiling next to the pilot holes and under where the bracket for the camera would go. I put glue on the end of the wires and threaded them into that hole. I then installed the camera and bracket over that hole I drilled.
This way if someone ever pulls the camera out of the ceiling to see if it's real, they will be pretty sure their photo was taken when they realize they just ripped a bunch of wires out of the ceiling - that were attached to the camera.

I read all the reviews of this type of item before purchasing and decided to try it anyway. Some said the motion sensor did not work, and that was my initial experience, but then found it does work in dim light or the dark, but not in bright light. Otherwise, it looks good and hope it will do its job. I purchased two, very inexpensively, but the shipping charge seemed high and turned out to be 3 times what the seller actually spent on shipping. Oh well.

I first owned one Foscam FI8904W. I ended up switching to the Agasio A603W (and purchased four of them through Amaazon). The Foscam FI8904W has 24 IR LEDs; the Agasio A603W has 36 IR LEDs. The Foscam FI8904W's outdoor daylight picture is washed out due to the IR's; the Agasio A603W has an IR-cut filter, thereby delivering daylight pictures in full color. The Foscam FI8904W is prone to water leaking in unless the antenna remains extremely tight at all times; the sealing system of Agasio A603W is independent of the tightness of the antenna and is far superior. Although the Agasio A603W is slightly more expensive, it is a much better designed ipcam than the Foscam FI8904W. No, I am not a salesperson. I am not affiliated with either company in any way and never have been. I am simply a regular purchaser.

Looks like Agasio/Foscam might have some good high resolution security cameras. But if a person cannot get them working, they are of no use. Older cams require paid support. New ones have "free" support, but only if they answer the phone. Supposedly 7 days/week during daytime hours.
Negative comments: 50% of the time I'm told to leave a message - they never have called me back. Language and foreign accents are a problem. Their phone system is a problem - very faint and sometime garbled.
Positive comments: The tech support guys seem well trained but I have to let them have access to my computer. That makes me nervous.
Negative comment: Soon as one problem is solved, another one crops up. Most serious unsolved issues include computer freeze up and video feed freeze up.
P.S. My computer is not the problem - I have plenty of memory and disk space plus high-speed internet and a decent wireless router.

Sorry swann, but these cameras were WAY better than your PRO series. Bought the 8x camera system, from fry's and wanted to get the wide angle lens, but they were out. So I went online and saw these for the same price as the replacement lens for the Swann cameras. I'm VERY happy with my purchase. The swivel bases are not as visually appealing but I just Spray paint the camera enclosures anyway so no problem.

Basically the camera does not like any 12v dc power adapter and I tried 4 of them. One power supply worked for like 5 minutes, then the camera went out again. Which showed me how terrible the picture quality was. Wow can you say super dark in broad daylight. The picture looked like a weird film had been put over the camera lens.

Overall, fully acceptable performance. I purchased three Foscam cameras for inside the house and decided to try the Loftek Sentinel for outside. It is the only one that offers pan, tilt and zoom in an exterior camera at anywhere near this price. I am impressed by the clarity and colors. Low light vision is acceptable for in-city use. My outside lights are sufficient to see colors on the porch, and I can see the street and other houses but not as clear. There are no infra-red lights so do not expect much performance if you yourself can not see in the darkness. Daytime, the colors are correct and not washed out. Response time is acceptable, although it occasionally will do a full pan rather than a step movement. The field of view is more narrow than I expected.
I have not had it long enough to see how high wind and rain will affect it. The bracket has four U slots, but it is difficult to get the screws in as the camera bulb and antenna plug are in the way. I ended up using a 90 degree offset screwdriver.
The AC adapter sucks. It is a rather large, palm-sized brick that plugs in sideways - goes to the side of the plug receptacle rather than hanging down. This would not be too much of an issue inside, but for outside receptacles, it does not fit well and will not fit any of the exterior receptacle boxes that I found. The power cord is only four or five feet long; for an exterior camera a 20 foot option would be a nice accessory. (Philmore 48-1024 12' power line extension cord runs about $6; plug size is 2.1x5.5mm)
The cables are an octopus of wiring! Ethernet, audio in, audio out, alarm and power! Over a foot long, and how are you suppose to waterproof this mess? I bought a 4x4 plastic junction box from Home Depot, drilled a hole for the electric extension cord (I cut the female end off of 110 AC extension cord, inserted into box then attached a new female plug) and a slot for the octopus and managed to fit the mess inside - the wiring would have been easy, but the AC adapter and extension cord plug will barely fit.
I am running Blue Iris (which is great software) so did not bother to load the included software. If you have installed a Foscam, you will find this pretty similar and easy to install. If you have never installed an IP camera, most of your time and trouble will be spent dealing with your router, not the camera. I am now a semi-expert on routers! The camera's mobile phone setting works surprisingly well.
One thing I have learned is that after three or four wireless IP cameras, the b/g network performance will degrade significantly. I am now running most interior cameras in lower format (320x240) and slower FPS. If you can run wired cameras, by all means do so. For an older, two-story home, wireless is pretty much the only option.

This is an excellent camera with many features. The pan / tilt and 3x zoom are awesome. Mounting bracket is adaptable to pretty much any configuration with a little ingenuity and it is waterproof, trust me, I installed it in a field on a tower and the next day it rained with 35 mph driving winds. It lost power, all settings remained and it even emailed me the cameras ip address (as I requested it to do) when the power came back on. It does not have ir illuminators so night vision is not good, but it is not stated to have it. I knew that when I purchased it, so heads up. Works with Blue Iris. Good range on wireless. The negatives are the built in interface is not great, but it is fully useable (with windows), The network settings are a little tricky, but it has many functions and I had to recycle the power once to reboot the camera b/c the pan/tilt quit responding. After a quick power reboot all was ok. It's been in operation for over a month now. I will buy another one like it for another project.
